Webb "whoopsy daisy"

Here is a comment Jim Webb made to the Washington Post.
Jim Webb-
“Towel-heads and rednecks — of which I am one. If you write that word, please say that. I mean, I don’t use that pejoratively, I use it defensively. Towel-heads and rednecks became the easy villains in so many movies out there.”

Later, Webb’s press secretary learns of this quote, and the next day Webb is calling a reporter from a fundraiser in Atlanta:

“I used the words that are used to stereotype them,” he says, adding that he was using both terms “defensively.” “I’m really upset if this is going to end up being the guppy that eats the whale here.”

BREAKING NEWS: Liberal newspaper endorses Liberal candidate!

This just off the presses, Liberal newspaper (Washington Post) has just endorsed a Liberal candidate (Jim Webb)! Wow, this one has really taken me aback, as an Allen supporter, what can I do?? Webb steams forward, more and more Liberal support, why can't Allen get Liberal support?? Oh, yeah Allen has character, that is why groups like the Washington "I had some for breakfast" Post, don't endorse him.

Well, with my internal polls, I have found, I have a stronger reader base than the "Post". (which is also a cereal) With this news, I have just decided to endorse George Allen.

Breaking news, conservative blogger (Lo Scrivano) endorses conservative candidate (George Allen)!!!!

Although I just mocked myself, I would say, I just had as much impact as the "Post" is gonna have on the election. Wednesday, isn't the best day to anounce an endorsement, unless you want no one to hear it. Continued...

McDonnell on live weblog!

Although i did not get a chance to ask a question of our AG, I did read some of the questions, and his answers. This in my opinion was one of the best questions, and by far the best thing Mr. McDonnel could have said in response.
once again to the "The Virginian Federalist" thank you for the great work!

"AG McDonnel to Enter the Blogosphere" By The Virginian Federalist

I found this on The Virginian Federalist, I think it is a great idea!!

The Virginian Federalist: "Monday, October 16, 2006
AG McDonnell to Enter the Blogosphere
Attorney General Bob McDonnell will be holding a “live blog” on the A-team blog in support of Senator George Allen tomorrow night. According to the McDonnell camp:
Attorney General Bob McDonnell will take the 2006 Senate campaign into cyberspace tomorrow, October 17th at 6p.m, when he 'Live Blogs' in support of Senator George Allen's re-election bid. This event will be held at the website: Allen's A-Team. (http://allens-a-team.com/) A 'Live Blog' is essentially an interactive online Town Hall. Participants will type in their questions and submit them, and the Attorney General will answer them online during the hour long event.
The Attorney General will sign onto to the website at 6p.m. and take questions until 7. This 'Live Blog' will be solely on the 2006 Senate campaign and Bob McDonnell's support for Senator George Allen. If you have a question for the Attorney General about the 2006 campaign you can go directly to the website, http://allens-a-team.com/, to submit it.
Senator Allen will benefit from this greatly as McDonnell is able to field questions honestly and persuasively.

Allen 49%-Webb 47%!! Is this good or bad news for Allen??

The Washington post just conducted a telephone poll of 1,004 likely voters. The poll was taken from Oct 10th-12th. The Washington Post poll shows Allen at 49% and Webb at 47%, and this poll has a 3% margin of error.

The question is, is this good or bad for Allen??

On the one hand, Webb has gained a huge amount of support over the last few months, but at the same time, his increase of voters has slowed down immensely, which should be expected as election day closes in. How much of this slowed progress is because of Allen's damage control, and how much of the slowed progress is due to the election day closing in?

On a happier note for Allen supporters, the Post had this to say-

"It also mirrored other national polls that showed widespread public unhappiness with Bush's handling of the Iraq war. Fifty-six percent disapproved. But 63 percent of the respondents said their feelings about Bush would not influence their Senate vote."

If this is true, and dislike for Bush does not overflow into the VA senate race, for 63% of the voters, then Allen has a great shot at winning! Also, he is still leading in the polls.

In addition, I have found it very interesting seeing how "happy" Webb supporters are that Webb has 47% of the vote...Honestly when I saw that a new poll was out, I figured a tie would be amazing for Allen, the fact that he is still leading, is huge in my mind, especially with this poll being done by the Washington post, which has a less than friendly reputation toward conservatives. No matter how much "hope" Webb supporters have, the fact remains, at this moment Allen still holds the lead, Webb is the one who has ground to make up, not Allen.

Also good news for Allen supporters,

Sleeping is a judge of character??

"Holding Drake responsible for the ruling of BRAC would be foolish and unwarranted. But Bearing Drift decided just a little while ago that we should base this election on character when they released charges brought against Kellam when he was 19. They say we should judge Commissioner Kellam based on what he did over 25 years ago. If they want to judge character, I am game. I say we judge Congresswoman Drake on what she did LAST YEAR, while in office. I don't want somebody who can't be bothered to wake up and pay attention to the single most important meeting for the District in over a decade serving in Congress." -ttp://notlarrysabato.typepad.com/doh/2006/10/sleeping_beauty.html#trackback

Character. What is character?

"Moral character or character is an evaluation of a person's moral and mental qualities. Such an evaluation is subjective--one person may evaluate someone's character on the basis of their virtue, another may consider their fortitude, courage, loyalty, honesty, or piety.
Developing true character happens when we focus on character qualities such as: truthfulness, diligence, obedience, loyalty and courage. Each quality overlaps the other. For example, you cannot be truthful and dishonest at the same time. Some character qualities, such as punctuality, can be developed through practice. To practice will require one to have discipline, which is also a desirable character quality.
What is true character? Character is the cumulative effect of the most desirable character qualities found in a person. Heroes exhibit traits such as self sacrifice and bravery. Heroes are men and women of exemplary character.
There are six core valuescharacterater or "pillars of character." These are: Trustworthiness, Resperesponsibilityilty, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_character

You might be able to judge Thelma Drakes "Character", by saying she was disrespectful by not paying close attention to the speaker. This of course is on the bases that you can prove she was sleeping, so I thought, well what if she was blinking. How unbelievable would this be? So, I looked up the word blinking and here is what i found.

"Women and men do not differ in their rates of spontaneous blinking (M.J. Doughty, 2002, Optom Vis Sci), averaging around 10 blinks per minute in a laboratory setting."-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blinking

So, a human blinks 10 times a minute, how long was this meeting? I looked for a time frame, but could not find one, so I will speculate, that it was at least an hour. If the BRAC meeting was 1 hour long, and a photographer took only one picture, he would have, a 1 in 6 chance of getting a picture of her blinking. That is if he only took one picture.

I have had thousands of pictures taken of me, that look like I am doing something I am not, so to say her eyes are closed and she is leaning to the right, therefore she must be sleeping, is ridiculous, it seems very unlilkely to me. If a video feed were avalible, then we would have seen it by now, this is the internet, and hundreds, maybe thousands of people are searching for anything, that puts a politician in a bad light, republican or democrat.

I find the credibility of NLS to be weakened, and hope for the sake of being able to debate, that he will stick to the facts.

Even if these alegations are true, it is very harsh to defame someones character, on the bases of one such thing, as being sleep depraved at a meeting.

If one mistake means a man or woman no longer has "Character" then we are all without character.

Allen Fishing or Democrats Phishing??

For those who don't know, there is a story out, that George Allen, went fishing decades ago, without a fishing license, and ended up having a court date.

The term "Phishing" is used to describe a scheme to gain money, through a false advertisement over the internet, they usually send an e-mail, claiming to be working for your bank, then they claim to have lost your information, so they ask for your credit card numbers or social security numbers and so on.

In this case the democrats, are "phishing." Trying to gain your support, by making claims that hold no relevance to the election. They are searching for anything to change the subject off of the issues, and onto another topic. They are trying to scheme the common man out of his common sense. They send out a claim that Allen, was caught doing "something" illegal, it turns out to be fishing illegally, who cares!!! It was when he was 19!!!! Do we elect people in this great state of Virginia, upon there acts of illegal fishing when they were 19, or do we elect a man, based on his character now!!

If all these accusations (that Allen was not "only" fishing illegally) be true, then he has no need to defend himself, the burden of proof lies on the accuser. Amazingly enough in this great country, we have this saying that goes: "Innocent till proven guilty" till a democrat can prove Allen was lying about fishing, then he is innocent.

My verdict is the democrats are Phishing and running out of bait.
